## Why do people choose OrangeWebsite?

Mainly for Iceland and for Monero. OrangeWebsite is an Icelandic host listed in privacy directories such as kycnot.me. Its home page says it asks only for a valid email address. It takes BTC, LTC, ETH, BCH and XMR through BitPay and CoinPayments.

It also has a longer public record than we do. A SelfPrivacy forum post of 23 June 2025 says it releases data only on an Icelandic court order. We could not find that rule on OrangeWebsite's own pages, so treat it as reported, not published.

If you need hosting and a domain under one Icelandic account, OrangeWebsite does both. PanamaRegistrar sells domains only. You can point our domains at any host, using our nameservers or yours.

## Iceland or Panama: what changes for a data request?

The main change is the legal path a request must follow. In Iceland the GDPR applies, because Iceland is in the European Economic Area. A rights holder or police force will use Icelandic procedure and EEA data rules.

In Panama, personal data falls under Law 81 of 2019, in force since 29 March 2021. Its article 24 says data must be handed to the competent judicial authorities when duly requested, and bulk requests are never admitted. Our rule follows that line: We release the data we hold only when Panamanian law requires it (a Panamanian court or prosecutor's order), or in a UDRP case.

Both countries are parties to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime: Iceland since 1 May 2007, Panama since 1 July 2014. The US Department of Justice lists a bilateral treaty on criminal evidence with Panama (in force 6 September 1995), and none with Iceland. Full grid: [jurisdictions compared](https://panamaregistrar.com/jurisdictions-compared/). Our rule in detail: [data disclosure](https://panamaregistrar.com/data-disclosure/).

## How much do the two charge for .com, .net, .org and .io?

PanamaRegistrar is lower on all four extensions we compared, at the October 2026 prices. OrangeWebsite lists €18.90 for a .com, €22.00 for a .net, €26.90 for a .org and €92.00 for a .io. We charge $11.99, $12.99, $12.99 and $52.99.

Two cautions apply. OrangeWebsite prices are in euros, so their dollar value moves with the exchange rate. And its price list does not show a separate renewal price, although the page says prices always stay the same.

Our rule is simple: one price per extension, for the first year, every renewal and a transfer in. Payment is in crypto only, from a prepaid balance with a minimum top-up of $25. The full list of 43 extensions is on the [price list](https://panamaregistrar.com/pricing/).

## What happens when someone complains about my domain?

At PanamaRegistrar, the answer is written down. Every complaint gets an automatic acknowledgement with a reference number; with Domain protection, it is also read by a person before any action on the domain. Copyright, defamation, political or competitor complaints need a decision from a Panamanian court. A foreign judgment must first be recognised in Panama by exequatur, before the Fourth Chamber of the Supreme Court.

Phishing, malware, botnets, child sexual abuse material and fraud that takes money from victims are the exceptions. They are suspended on a well-documented report. You are told before any action on your domain, unless the law or the court order forbids it.

We found no equivalent written procedure for domains on OrangeWebsite's pages. That does not mean it acts on every complaint; it means you cannot check in advance. Our full steps and time limits are on the [takedown procedure](https://panamaregistrar.com/takedown-procedure/) page.

## When is OrangeWebsite the better choice?

OrangeWebsite is the better pick in three cases.

- **You pay in Monero.** We do not accept XMR.
- **You want hosting and domain from one Icelandic provider.** We sell domains only.
- **You value years of public history.** Our first transparency report is due January 2027, so we have no figures to show yet.

PanamaRegistrar is the better pick when the written procedure, the price per extension, or a Panamanian legal path matters more. In both cases the registry keeps its own jurisdiction: a .com stays under Verisign in Reston, Virginia. Check the [registry jurisdiction index](https://panamaregistrar.com/registry-jurisdiction/) before you choose an extension.

## Questions about OrangeWebsite and PanamaRegistrar

### Where is OrangeWebsite based?

In Iceland. OrangeWebsite is an Icelandic hosting company that also sells domain names. Iceland is in the European Economic Area, so the GDPR applies to it. PanamaRegistrar is operated by DomaineGoat LLC, a company incorporated in Panama, outside the EEA.

### How much is a .com at OrangeWebsite?

€18.90, per OrangeWebsite's domain price list read on 19 October 2026. The .net is €22.00, the .org €26.90 and the .io €92.00. At PanamaRegistrar a .com costs $11.99, the same to renew and to transfer. All our prices are on the [price list](https://panamaregistrar.com/pricing/).

### Does OrangeWebsite release data only on a court order?

A SelfPrivacy forum post of 23 June 2025 says it releases data only on an Icelandic court order. We did not find that rule on OrangeWebsite's own pages. PanamaRegistrar publishes its rule: We release the data we hold only when Panamanian law requires it (a Panamanian court or prosecutor's order), or in a UDRP case.

### Can I pay PanamaRegistrar in Monero, as at OrangeWebsite?

No. PanamaRegistrar accepts BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, from a prepaid balance with a minimum top-up of $25. OrangeWebsite takes Monero along with BTC, LTC, ETH and BCH through BitPay and CoinPayments. If Monero is required, OrangeWebsite fits that need better.

### Does Iceland protect my domain better than Panama?

Not in the way that matters most: neither country controls the .com registry. Verisign in Reston, Virginia, does, and a US court can order it directly. Iceland adds GDPR rules; Panama adds Law 81 of 2019 and the exequatur filter on foreign judgments. Compare both on [jurisdictions compared](https://panamaregistrar.com/jurisdictions-compared/).

### Can I host my site at OrangeWebsite and register the domain with PanamaRegistrar?

Yes. Register the domain here, then point its nameservers or its A and AAAA records at your host. The client area manages A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and CAA records. Splitting registrar and host also splits the two places where a complaint can land.

### How do I transfer a domain from OrangeWebsite?

Ask OrangeWebsite for the transfer code, then start the transfer from your PanamaRegistrar account. A transfer in costs one year at our transfer price, $11.99 for a .com, and adds that year to a generic extension. ICANN rules require the registrant email to be verified within 15 days.
