The full list of what a registration needs, the one thing ICANN obliges us to check, and the registries that would ask for more.

**Quick answer — What does no-KYC domain registration mean at PanamaRegistrar?**

**PanamaRegistrar** offers no-KYC domain registration: no passport scan, no selfie, no phone number. Each domain needs one verified email, because ICANN requires registrars to verify it within 15 days or suspend the domain. That address is never published. Payment is in crypto from a prepaid balance. Rules as of October 2026.

## No-KYC registration: key facts

| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Identity documents | None: no passport, no ID card, no selfie, no ID number |
| What you give | One email per domain, required and confirmed: the only contact data collected |
| ICANN deadline | Verified within 15 days, or the domain is suspended |
| Account | A random account number; the domain is in your name |
| Published | Never: the email does not appear in WHOIS/RDAP |
| Payment | Crypto only (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC), minimum top-up $25 |
| Not sold | .us, .eu, .fr, .ca, .it (registries that need your own identity or local presence) |

## What do you ask for to register a domain?

One email address per domain, which you confirm by clicking a link. It is the only contact data we collect, and it is required.

Your account is identified by a random account number. The domain is registered in your name, as registrant of record, and you are not asked for a postal address or a phone number. You pay from a crypto balance, so there is no card and no bank account either.

No-KYC here means no identity check. It does not mean we keep nothing: we keep the account number, the verified email of each domain, your orders and the payments that credited your balance. The field-by-field list is on [what we hold about you](https://panamaregistrar.com/what-we-hold/).

## What we ask, and what we do not

| Item | Asked? | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Email address (one per domain) | Yes, required and verified | ICANN rules require the registrant's email to be verified within 15 days |
| Passport, national ID card or driving licence | No | Our policy: no ID, no KYC |
| Selfie or video check | No | Not part of any registration we sell |
| National ID or tax number | No | Registries that need one are not sold |
| Phone number | No | ICANN accepts a verified email instead |
| Name and postal address | No | Not collected; where a registry needs them, our company's details are used, with Domain protection |
| Card or bank details | No | Payment is in crypto only |

## Why do you need an email at all?

Because ICANN's contract with every accredited registrar, our registrar partner included, makes it a condition of the registration. The Whois Accuracy Program Specification of the 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement says:

- within **15 days** of a registration, a transfer or a change of contact data, the registrar verifies the registrant's email address or phone number;
- if the registrant does not respond, the registrar must verify by hand or **suspend the domain**;
- if the data is knowingly false, the registrar suspends or deletes the domain.

So a registration with no working contact is not possible on a gTLD such as .com. The email route is the one we use, because it needs nothing but an address you control. The email also lets us reach you before any action on your domain, as our policy promises: you are told before any action on your domain, unless the law or the court order forbids it.

## What happens to the email you verify?

It stays with us and is never published. Public WHOIS/RDAP shows no email of yours.

- **Messages to the domain contact** are forwarded to your verified email; spam and bulk mail are not forwarded.
- **Disclosure** follows one rule: We release the data we hold only when Panamanian law requires it (a Panamanian court or prosecutor's order), or in a UDRP case. See [data disclosure](https://panamaregistrar.com/data-disclosure/).

You can use an address created only for that domain. It must keep working: a bounce during the 15-day check leads to a suspension under ICANN's rule.

## Why do fake contact details backfire?

Because false details turn a dispute you could win into one you are presumed to have lost on intent. A pseudonymous email address is lawful. A false name, a false address or a dead email is a different matter.

- **United States, trademarks.** Under 15 U.S.C. §1117(e), knowingly giving materially false contact information to a registrar for a domain used in an infringement creates a rebuttable presumption that the infringement was wilful. Wilful infringement raises the damages.
- **United States, copyright.** 17 U.S.C. §504(c)(3)(A) sets the same presumption for copyright infringement online.
- **ICANN.** Knowingly false data obliges the registrar to suspend or delete the domain.

Our set-up avoids the problem: we ask for nothing you would need to invent. Where a registry demands a name and postal address, we supply our own company's, openly, through [Domain protection](https://panamaregistrar.com/domain-protection/).

## Which registries need more than an email?

Some registries require a registrant name and postal address, and some require your own identity, citizenship or local presence. We treat the two groups differently.

**Sold with Domain protection only (12):** .de, .uk, .nl, .cc, .to, .ch, .pl, .be, .at, .cz, .nz, .fi. These registries need a name and a postal address. With Domain protection the registry receives those of DomaineGoat LLC, so you still give only an email. The listed price includes the option.

**Not sold at all:** .us, .eu, .fr, .ca and .it. Their rules require the registrant itself to qualify, or forbid a proxy, so our company's details cannot stand in for yours. Selling them would mean asking for your identity, which we do not do.

## Extensions left out of our catalogue, with the reason

| Extension | Registry rule | Why we do not sell it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| .us | US nexus required; privacy and proxy registrations are not allowed | Your own details would be public |
| .eu | EU citizen, EU resident or organisation established in the EU | A proxy registrant is not eligible |
| .fr | Person or organisation located in the EU or EEA | Eligibility is checked on the registrant |
| .ca | Canadian Presence Requirements (citizens, permanent residents, Canadian entities…) | Our company does not qualify |
| .it | Residence or establishment in the EU or EEA | Eligibility is checked on the registrant |

Every extension we do sell, with its registry and rules, is on the [price list](https://panamaregistrar.com/pricing/) and in the [registry jurisdiction index](https://panamaregistrar.com/registry-jurisdiction/).

## No-KYC registration: questions

### Do I need a phone number to register a domain?

No. ICANN lets a registrar verify either the email address or the phone number of the registrant, and we use the email. You never give a phone number, at sign-up or later. Support works by email: Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week, including help with DNS, transfers and renewals.

### What if I do not confirm the email within 15 days?

The domain is suspended, as ICANN's Whois Accuracy Program requires. It stops resolving until the address is confirmed. The domain stays in your account, so confirming the email afterwards lets it work again. Check the inbox, including spam, as soon as you place the order.

### Can I use the same email for several domains?

Each domain carries one verified email. You choose the address, so it can be a separate address for each project or one you already use. Keep in mind that the address is the contact we would write to before any action on that domain, so it must stay readable.

### Will you ask for my ID later, after a complaint?

No. A complaint is handled under our published procedure; it does not trigger an identity check. Copyright, defamation, political and competitor complaints need a decision that binds us, such as a Panamanian court decision, before any action. Strict exceptions such as phishing are suspended within 24 hours of a well-documented report. See the [takedown procedure](https://panamaregistrar.com/takedown-procedure/).

### Does no-KYC mean nobody can ever learn who I am?

No, and we do not claim it. A Panamanian court or prosecutor's order can make us release what we hold: your account number, verified email, orders and payments. Our registrar partner and the registry keep their own records under their own law. Your hosting provider, your payments on a public blockchain and your site's content may also identify you. No-KYC removes the identity check, not the law.

### Is registering a domain without KYC legal?

Yes. ICANN's contract asks registrars to verify a contact, not identity documents, and choosing a service that asks for less is lawful. What you do with the domain is a separate question. Background: [offshore domain law](https://panamaregistrar.com/guides/is-offshore-domain-registration-legal/). This is not legal advice.

### Can I pay without KYC?

Yes: payment is in crypto only, BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, from a prepaid balance with a minimum top-up of $25. There is no card form and no bank transfer. Monero is not accepted. Step by step: [buy a domain with crypto](https://panamaregistrar.com/buy-domain-with-crypto/).
