Who runs the .store registry, and from which country?
The .store registry is Radix Technologies Inc., at a corporate services address in Willow House, Cricket Square, Grand Cayman. Tucows.com, Co. runs the technical operation from Toronto. Lookups go to whois.nic.store or to RDAP at rdap.radix.host, the RDAP host shared with the other Radix extensions. IANA last updated the .store record on 27 April 2026. .store is a new generic extension with no national law of its own; its rules come from the ICANN contract and Radix's policies.
Can a court in the Cayman Islands take down or seize a .store domain?
For a .store name, the registry company sits in the Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory with its own courts, and the database sits in Canada. An order against the registry company would go through the Cayman courts. Canadian courts have authority over Tucows in Toronto. We found no published procedure from either for foreign court orders. Shops that sell to United States customers should note that a US court cannot use the registry-location rule of 15 U.S.C. §1125(d)(2) unless the registry or registrar is in a US district.
What does PanamaRegistrar do with a complaint about a .store domain?
Nothing happens to a .store domain on a complaint alone. Copyright, defamation, political or competitor complaints need a decision from a Panamanian court; a foreign judgment must first be recognised in Panama by exequatur. Phishing, malware, botnets and fraud that takes money from victims are suspended within 24 hours of a well-documented report, child sexual abuse material immediately, and the URLs are reported to NCMEC. You are told before any action on your domain, unless the law or the court order forbids it; with Domain protection, every complaint is also read by a person before any action on the domain. This rule covers what PanamaRegistrar does, not the registry or our registrar partner. Steps and time limits: takedown procedure and how we handle complaints.
Who uses .store domains, and why?
Online stores and product brands use .store, according to the dataset. Its word says what the site does, which helps a shop that sells one product line. Anyone can register, for 1 to 10 years. Shops are also the sites most exposed to fraud reports, which is why our strict exceptions name fake shops explicitly.
Which registry rules are specific to .store?
A shop on .store that takes money without delivering falls under our strict exceptions: fraud that takes money from victims is suspended on a well-documented report, without waiting for a court. A real shop with an unhappy customer or a competitor complaint is not: that needs a Panamanian court decision. .store has DNSSEC.
What does the WHOIS show for a .store domain?
WHOIS privacy is allowed on .store and included free at PanamaRegistrar. The public record shows registrar, dates, nameservers and status, but not your details. Shops that must publish a legal address can do so on their own website; the WHOIS record does not have to carry it.
Do I need Domain protection for a .store domain?
No, it is optional: +$29 per year, on top of the .store price. Domain protection registers the domain in the name of DomaineGoat LLC, so the registration record and WHOIS/RDAP show our company, never you, and you can take it back in your own name for free. A transfer lock is on, and any transfer or DNS change must be confirmed from your account. We then hold only your email, and a person reads every complaint before any action on the domain; that review exists only with the option. It does not move the registry or change its courts.
Which dispute policy applies to .store?
As a 2012-round gTLD, .store is covered by the UDRP and the URS. Brand owners often use these procedures against shop domains that copy a trademark. We apply both procedures' decisions, lock the domain within 2 business days of a UDRP provider's request, and tell the customer so that the shop can answer. Our steps for trademark cases: UDRP and URS.
How much does a .store domain cost, and how is it renewed?
At PanamaRegistrar, as of October 2026, .store costs $55.49/year; renewal is $55.49/year, and a transfer $55.49 with one year added, as ICANN rules provide for generic extensions. .store questions
Will a customer complaint get my .store domain suspended?
No. A complaint about a sale, a refund or a review is not a takedown ground at PanamaRegistrar. Fraud that takes money from victims, such as a fake shop that never delivers, is suspended on a well-documented report. Everything else needs a Panamanian court decision. See how we handle complaints.
Where is the .store registry?
IANA lists Radix Technologies Inc. at a corporate address in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, with Tucows.com, Co. in Toronto, Canada, as technical operator. The extension runs under a registry agreement with ICANN, so ICANN dispute procedures apply as well.
Can a brand owner take a .store domain through the URS?
Yes, in a clear trademark case. The URS applies to new gTLDs such as .store and leads to suspension of the name; the UDRP can transfer it. We apply both and tell you when a case names your domain. See UDRP and URS.
Can PanamaRegistrar stop the .store registry from acting on a court order?
No. The .store registry, Radix Technologies Inc., keeps its own copy of the registration and applies the law of its own country. PanamaRegistrar decides only what its own service does: we act on Panamanian court orders, not on unverified complaints. Our registrar partner also keeps its own legal duties. We tell you when we learn of a registry-level action, unless the law or the order forbids it. See the registry jurisdiction index.
How do I pay for a .store domain?
In crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. Top up your balance (minimum $25), then register the .store domain from it at $55.49/year. Send the exact amount on the exact network; the top-up is credited after the network confirmations. No ID and no KYC: one verified email per domain, never published.
